| Question | Answer |
| How long does each session last? | Each session lasts approximately 60 minutes |
| How much does each session cost? | $300 for first visit. $250 for subsequent sessions. Do speak to our physiotherapist about discounts for regular sessions (at least 2x/week for 1 month). |
| Why are the home visits more expensive than usual clinic physiotherapy costs? | The charges include our physiotherapist’s transport costs and additional time spent travelling (about 2 hours altogether). Our sessions are typically longer than a usual clinic visit and are competitive with other specialised home physiotherapy charges. |
| Can I see the same physio in the clinic setting? | Absolutely. Our physiotherapist has clinic sessions at The Physio Movement (Marine Parade). Do contact us to arrange a session. |
| How do I know if my relative will benefit from home physiotherapy? | Most homebound seniors will benefit from exercise to strengthen their muscles and improve their balance. If your relative has signs of slowing or has had a significant health event (eg. recent hospitalisation/surgery) resulting in weakness, physiotherapy will definitely be beneficial. Seniors who are less mobile (eg. wheelchair or bedbound) may also require physiotherapy to maintain good flexibility in their joints and strength in their muscles. They should be encouraged to sit up and be as active as possible to encourage social engagement, maintain good trunk strength and sitting balance, whilst facilitating good ventilation in their lungs and preventing complications such as bed sores and delirium. If you are still unsure about physiotherapy, you may contact us for more information. |
| How is physiotherapy different from general exercise? | Physiotherapists have good knowledge about anatomy and physiology and thus have good knowledge on health conditions and how it may affect one’s ability to exercise. The approach is highly individualised for best outcomes. Our physiotherapist will simultaneously monitor your health condition to ensure the exercise is safe for you. Our physiotherapist will work with you to understand your goals during the first session. Some big goals may have to be broken up into smaller goals first. These goals will be revisited at relevant time points by both parties to ensure therapy is effective. |
